What to Expect
It’s a big deal visiting a new church for the first time. Many people have questions about what to expect. "Will they make me chant?"; "Will everybody raise their hands in worship?" or "Should I dress up or be casual?" At Community Bible Church our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible. Come as you are. Participate in the parts of the service when you are comfortable joining us, or sit back and observe if you aren't comfortable joining in.
Can I come if I’m not sure what I believe?
At Community Bible Church, we want to make your visit a great one – easy, straightforward, and uncomplicated. We are intentionally “user-friendly” for everyone regardless of their background. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect:
Showing up
When you arrive you will find ample parking. The parking lot is to the north of the building and can be entered from both Blackhawk St and 35th Street. If it’s your first time or if you have special needs please park in the spaces closest to the north entrance, or you can drop off passengers at the circle drive on the east side of the building! As you enter the building expect to be warmly greeted at the door and make sure to help yourself to a cup of coffee and a donut.
Through the doors
Our services begin at 10:30 with about 10 minutes of fellowship time. This is a part of our church's commitment to be RELATIONAL. At Community Bible Church we try to make each of our services unique. Most weeks you will experience upbeat music led by our worship arts team (drums, guitars, keyboards, vocalists). Sometimes videos are used to introduce or enhance the message of the morning, Most of our services contain a welcome and time to greet those around you. (Don’t worry, we don’t make you stand and introduce yourself!) Occasionally, we will have special elements such as human videos, dramas, and more. All of this is tied to a message which seeks to be Biblically based, relevant to daily life, interesting, and enjoyable. The message is scripture driven, and often including interesting ideas from contemporary culture, events, songs, or movies. Often there is a video, musical feature or drama to further expand the message of the day.
If you are interested you can meet Pastor Tim or one of our Elders after the service where you can ask questions and find the vision of Community Bible Church and the ways in which God is blessing our church family.
At the end of service, you should have experienced solid Christian teaching that was understandable and relevant. Our mission is to provide everyone who walks through our door a genuine transformational experience of God. In addition, we want you to experience community and friendship, and we trust you will find genuine warmth and openness!
We hope to see you Sunday!
